In the Spring of 2004, KUNG FU SAN SOO of Texas, Inc., in collaboration with North Texas SNAP (Special Needs Assistance Partners), initiated a quarterly, 12-week self defense training course for Special Needs students (ages 16 – 40+). We believe this oftentimes overlooked segment of society has as much right to safety and security as anyone, so satisfying this group's needs became and remains a priority for us.

Our developmentally disabled members have proven to be excellent students, and have exceeded everyone’s expectations. The nurturing approach to education employed by the dedicated teaching staff, combined with the proven, real-world techniques of Kung Fu San Soo, have served each participant so well that we’ve made this program a core component of the school and have established a separate division to serve their specific needs.

Master Dale Lockwood, 8th degree black belt Chief Instructor, Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee and recently named Self Defense Instructor of the Year, designed the program directly from the long-standing 12 week course offered to the general public. Minimal modifications were necessary and - as with every course taught by the school - an optimal balance of Safety and Quality of Education are maintained consistently. Our vision is to have this program continue its expansion to reach other similar Special Needs groups and individuals in the DFW Metroplex.

We enthusiastically extend an invitation to you and/or your Special Needs organization’s members to come see our people in action and determine if this intellectually and physically stimulating program may positively impact your efforts.
